Flex-Repair Redundancy Solution

Log Into Physical IP Account

Due to memories' dense layout, they are prone to manufacturing defects, thereby reducing chip yield. The ARM Flex-Repair™ redundancy solution, for its family of Artisan® Physical IP memory compilers, provides the ability to correct most prevalent types of physical IP memory faults. Based on memory fault data, bit cell yields and related recommendations provided by TSMC, the Flex-Repair solution supports implementation of repair in SRAM instances. The Flex-Repair memories can be used with both laser fuse as well as self repair methods.

The Flex-Repair solution uses standard cell based logic circuits, combined with extra storage bits, to allow the implementation of repair capabilities with existing embedded memory architectures. The logic for testing, repairing and replacement of faulty bits is implemented in the standard cell portion of the chip.
